How to use Room Planner
Design your bedroom to scale, then drag furniture around to see what fits.
1. Shape your room
Set a rectangular size, or click L-Shape for a starting non-rectangular room.
Switch to Edit Room Shape to drag wall corners, double-click a wall to add a corner (for alcoves, angled walls, or a closet recess), and delete corners you don't need.
Lock wall lengths: when you click a wall's length and enter a number, that wall locks (shown with a 🔒). Resizing any other wall is then absorbed only by the unlocked walls — so dimensions you've already dialled in never move. Click a wall's lock icon to unlock it again.
2. Add furniture & features
Click any item in the palette. Door, Closet and Window are under Room Features — place them right on a wall.
Use Custom Item for anything not listed.
3. Arrange & rotate
Drag items to move them. They snap to the grid, walls and other furniture.
Resize from the canvas: click any measurement — a furniture size or a wall length — and type the exact number. Furniture resizes around its centre; a wall takes the exact length while unlocked walls adjust to keep the room closed.
Rotate 90° with the R key, the on-canvas ↻ handle, or the rotate buttons.
Nudge with arrow keys, duplicate with Ctrl+D, delete with Delete.
4. Clearance zones
Each item carries a striped clearance zone for the space it needs around it — a chair pull-out for a desk, drawer-open space for a dresser, swing space for a door. Set the Front / Back / Left / Right clearances in the item panel. "Front" is the side that needs open space. If furniture lands inside another item's clearance zone, the layout check flags it. To plan with physical footprints only, untick Account for clearance space in Display settings.
5. Saved setups
The Setups panel holds as many layouts as you like — try several arrangements and flip between them. Switch with the dropdown; your edits always save into the active setup. Click Duplicate to copy the current layout into a new setup, then rearrange the copy while the original stays untouched. Everything is stored in this browser automatically.
